Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa discuss their new Reno show with Christina Hall.
Tarek El Moussa and his wife Heather Rae El Moussa acknowledge that fans consider their new renovation show with his ex-wife Christina Hall and her husband Joshua Hall to be “crazy.”
The couple featured on Tamron Hall on Friday, June 7, and talked about their readiness to “move on from the past” in a clip acquired exclusively by Us Weekly.
“I’m just going to say it, it’s a little bit weird we’re having a house flipping competition show because they have literally no chance of beating us,” Tarek, 42, joked about the blended family’s upcoming HGTV series, The Flip Off, set to premiere in 2025.
Heather, 36, added about their dynamic, “It’s crazy but everyone is in such a good place and we’re here to give you guys a great show and we’re really excited about it.”
Tarek and Christina, both 40, were married from 2009 to 2018, and have two children: daughter Taylor, 13, and son Brayden, 8. Their divorce led to the conclusion of their long-standing show, Flip or Flop, in 2022 after 10 seasons. Tarek married Heather in 2021 and their son, Tristan, was born in February 2023. (Christina was married to Ant Anstead from 2018 to 2021, and they share son Hudson, who is 4 years old. She wed her present husband, Joshua, aged 43, in 2022.)
Tarek told Tamron, 53, that he felt like he and Christina had gone from “best friends to arch enemies” during their separation. Nevertheless, he opted for a new dynamic for the children’s well-being.
“As time passes, one begins to ponder and comprehend, don’t you think?” Tarek shared. “What I’ve come to understand is this: I couldn’t fathom being raised in a family torn by parental animosity post-divorce. I cherish both my mother and father. Despite their divorce, they come together for family dinners. Let the past remain in the past.”
After years of tension between Tarek, Christina, and their spouses, the group was brought together when Brayden had an urgent appendectomy in May 2022. Despite the fear it instilled in the parents, it eventually led to reconciliation for all.
“Stressful 24 hours but a good reminder of the importance of teamwork/co-parenting,” Christina shared on Instagram. “Under pressure, we all came together for Brayden. A scary situation can be a wake-up call. In the end, the rest is just ‘noise’; the kids are what matter.”

During their Friday appearance on Tamron Hall, Heather expressed pride in Tarek for writing his book Flip Your Life, which details his battle with addiction.
“It’s challenging when the entire world is watching, always ready with negative and nasty comments, and you reveal everything without knowing how people will react,” she mentioned. “He openly shares everything, unconcerned about the negativity, as he aims to aid people.”
Tarek concurred that releasing his memoir was “totally worth it.”
